A custom SiteView is a version of the viewer built for one audience. You choose which captures, which parts of the project and which notes are in it, set what the viewer opens on, and publish it. People you share it with see exactly that and nothing else.

It is how you give an owner, a client or a subcontractor a way into the site without giving them the whole project.

Starting one

Go to Apps in the project, find the SiteView section, and choose Add Custom SiteView. Existing SiteViews are listed there with their state — Published or Unpublished — and the date they were last updated.

The five steps

Setup runs as a wizard down the left side. You can move back and forth between steps, and Save as Draft at any point.

1 · Name

What this SiteView is called. The name is what your audience sees when they open it, so name it for them rather than for you.

2 · Capture Dates

Which captures are reachable. Three choices: All Captures, a Captures Date Range with a start and end date, or Selected Captures ticked one by one. Dates outside the range are hidden entirely — not greyed out.

3 · Project Structure

Which areas and design files are included: sites, buildings, levels, drawings and BIM files, shown as a tree you tick through. Each branch shows whether all of it is included.

4 · SpatialNotes

Which note types and groups come through. Photo & Voice Notes is one switch; FormNote groups such as Inspection are ticked individually. Anything you leave out is invisible to the audience, which is usually the point — internal notes stay internal.

5 · Viewer Settings

What the viewer does when it opens. Two parts:

• Data Loaded at Launch — the site or building, the capture type, and the area the viewer opens on.
• Comparison views — optional extra views alongside the capture. Each has a left and a right side; a side can be a capture, a BIM model or a plan, and a capture side can be pinned to Latest, Second Latest, a Lookback period, or a Specific date. You can add more than one.

Click an icon in the preview to configure that part of the layout. A short walkthrough offers to guide you the first time.

Preview and publish

Preview opens the SiteView as your audience will see it. It saves a draft first, so what you preview is what you have configured. Publish makes it live; until then it stays Unpublished and only you can reach it.
