Introduction
A custom SiteView is a version of the viewer set up for one audience. You choose which captures, which parts of the project and which SpatialNotes it includes, set what the viewer opens on, and publish it. You can create several SiteViews for the same project, each for a different audience, workflow or use case.
Where SiteViews Live
Open the project and go to Apps. The SiteView section lists every SiteView in the project as a card, with its state and the date it was last updated.
- Add Custom SiteView - starts the setup wizard.
- State - Published or Unpublished.
- Details opens the side panel for that SiteView; Open launches it.
The ⋮ menu on each card holds the rest of the actions.
- Copy link, Duplicate, Unpublish, Enable Public Access, Manage Access and Delete.
Create a SiteView
Choose Add Custom SiteView. Setup runs as a five-step wizard down the left side. Use Continue and Back to move between steps, and Save as Draft at any point to keep your work without publishing.
| Step | What you set |
|---|---|
| 1. Name | What the SiteView is called |
| 2. Capture Dates | Which captures are accessible |
| 3. Project Structure | Which sites, buildings, levels, drawings and BIM files are accessible |
| 4. SpatialNotes | Which note types and groups are accessible |
| 5. Viewer Settings | What the viewer opens on, and any comparison views |
Step 1. Name
Enter a name. Your audience sees this name, so name it for them.
- Wizard steps - the step you are on is highlighted; finished steps show a check mark.
- Name - required.
- Preview - see Preview and Publish.
- Save as Draft - saves the SiteView as Unpublished.
Step 2. Capture Dates
Choose which captures are accessible. Dates outside your choice are hidden in the SiteView.
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| All Captures | Every capture in the project is accessible. |
| Captures Date Range | Set a Start Date and an End Date. |
| Selected Captures | Tick individual capture dates from the list. |
- All Captures, Captures Date Range, Selected Captures.
- Capture dates - tick the ones to include.
Step 3. Project Structure
Choose which sites, buildings, levels, drawings and BIM files are accessible. They are shown as a tree: expand a row with the arrow to go down a level, and select a row to see its details on the right.
- Select All - includes or clears the whole project.
- The tree - the site and each building, with a checkbox per row.
- All included - shows that everything under that row is included.
Step 4. SpatialNotes
Choose which SpatialNote types and groups are accessible.
- Photo & Voice Notes - one switch for the whole type.
- Note Groups - tick each group to include, or Select All.
Step 5. Viewer Settings
Set what the viewer shows when someone opens the SiteView. The top of the step is a preview of the layout: click an icon in it to configure that part. The first time you reach this step, a short three-part walkthrough points out the area, the default capture and the comparison icons. Choose Next to follow it, or Skip.
- Layout icons - each configures a part of the viewer; + adds a comparison view.
- Data Loaded at Launch - what the viewer opens on.
Data Loaded at Launch has three settings:
| Setting | Choices |
|---|---|
| Site or Building | A dropdown; defaults to Site |
| Capture Type | 360° or Drone |
| Area | Latest, Second-Latest, Lookback or Specific |
Comparison Views
A comparison view shows two panes side by side. Click + (Add comparison view) to add one; you can add more than one.
- Add comparison view.
- Pencil, up arrow, trash - edit, reorder or delete this comparison view.
- Left View and Right View - what each pane shows.
| Pane | Setting | Choices |
|---|---|---|
| Left View | Area | Latest, Second-Latest, Lookback or Specific |
| Right View | Target data | Capture, BIM or Plan |
| Right View | Area | Latest, Second-Latest, Lookback or Specific |
Preview and Publish
Preview opens the SiteView as it is configured. It saves the current state as a draft first, and asks you to confirm.
- Proceed saves a draft and opens the preview; Cancel returns to the wizard.
In Step 5, Publish makes the SiteView live and its card shows Published. Until then it stays Unpublished.
Details and Access
Details on a card opens a side panel with the SiteView's sharing switches, its name and ID, who created it and when, and its scope.
- Sharing - Publish SiteView and Public Access switches.
- Scope - the buildings, levels, capture date range and note groups it includes.
Manage Access in the ⋮ menu opens the project's member list. As the dialog says, project members can open the project's SiteViews and reports, and team and workspace admins already have access.
- Add people and groups, with a Notify people checkbox.
- Project Members - remove someone with the delete icon. Choose Save to apply changes.
