Captures sits under Admin in the project's menu. Where SiteView shows captures as something to walk through, this page shows them as records: what exists, where it sits in the building, who took it, whether it is published, and how far through processing it has got.
- Table / Matrix - the same captures as a list, or as a grid of levels against dates.
- New Capture - adds a capture: an empty record, a file upload, or an upload from the CupixCapture app.
- Understanding 3D Process Status - the four stages a capture goes through. Click it to open the explanation.
- A group - captures of one level on one date, with their count. The arrow folds the group.
- Column headers - each filter icon narrows the table by that column.
- Row menu - rename, publish, move or delete one capture; see below.
The process stages
The strip across the top, Understanding 3D Process Status, names the four stages a capture passes through. Click it to open the explanation; the table's Processing Status column reads against it.
| Stage | What it means | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Uploaded | The 360 videos or photos are in | Nothing yet |
| 2. Preview | A first 360 tour is ready | Quick visual collaboration; comparing with BIM is not recommended yet |
| 3. 360 Tour | The tour is fine-aligned | Comparing with BIM |
| 4. 3D Map | The 3D dollhouse is complete | Everything, including measuring in 3D |
Others explains three more icons: 360 Photo, VideoDrive, and Upload Pending (a capture whose files have not arrived yet).
- Four stages - 1. Uploaded (the files are in), 2. Preview (a first 360 tour), 3. 360 Tour (fine-aligned), 4. 3D Map (the 3D dollhouse is done).
- Others - the icons for 360 Photo, VideoDrive and Upload Pending captures.
Table view
Rows are grouped by capture date and level (for example 2025-05-21 - L4); each group folds and shows its capture count.
| Column | What it holds |
|---|---|
| Capture | The capture's type icon and its name, which is its time of day, for example Area [17:58:16] |
| Site / Building | The building |
| Level | The level |
| Date | The capture date |
| Capturer | Who took it |
| Published | A tick when the capture is published to SiteView |
| Processing Status | Complete, or the stage it has reached |
| Output | What exists for it: 360 Tour, 3D Map |
A checkbox on each row and each group selects captures for a bulk action; the count shows at the foot of the page with Open in Editor. The table shows 25 rows a page by default.
Filtering by column
Every column header has a filter. Search its values, or tick only the ones to keep; (Select All) ticks or clears them all. Filters on several columns combine.
Column filter - search the values, then tick only the buildings to keep. (Select All) ticks or clears every one.
A capture's row menu
| Entry | What it does |
|---|---|
| Rename | Renames the capture |
| Unpublish / Publish | Takes it out of SiteView, or puts it back |
| Change Level | Moves it to another level, when it was filed on the wrong one |
| Move to Other Capture | Merges it into another capture of the same level |
| Get Info | Opens its details panel (next) |
| Delete | Moves it to Trash, where it can be restored |
Row menu - Rename, Unpublish (or Publish), Change Level, Move to Other Capture, Get Info and Delete.
Get Info
Get Info opens a panel on the right: a map of where the capture sits, with Open in Plan Viewer; its Publish switch; and its Details: name, level, elevation, capture date, Capture ID and method. The Capture ID is what support will ask for.
Edit changes the details. Open in Editor opens the capture in the Capture Editor.
- Location - where the capture sits; Open in Plan Viewer opens it on its floor plan.
- Publish - the same switch as Publish / Unpublish in the row menu: on, the capture shows in SiteView.
- Details - name, level, elevation, capture date, Capture ID and method. The Capture ID is what support asks for.
- Edit and Open in Editor - Edit changes the details; Open in Editor opens the capture in the Capture Editor.
The Capture Editor
The Capture Editor opens in its own tab, on the capture's building, date and level. It is where a capture is checked and corrected: its position and rotation in the building's frame, its plans, its areas and its objects. Nothing changes until you Save.
- Where you are - project, building, date and level of the capture being edited.
- Save - keeps your edits. Close the tab without saving and nothing changes.
- Position - where the capture sits in the building's frame: X, Y, Z and the rotation angle.
Matrix view
Matrix turns the same captures into a grid: buildings and their levels down the side, capture dates across the top, an icon in each cell for every capture of that level on that date. It is the fastest answer to which levels have not been captured recently, and a different icon shows a different capture type.
In Matrix view one more control appears: Export Capture Coverage Table, which downloads the grid.
- Export Capture Coverage Table - downloads this grid, for a coverage report outside CupixWorks.
- Dormitory B - each level's row; an icon is one capture of that level on that date. An empty row shows a level not captured recently.
- Energy Facility, Basement - a different icon is a different capture type: laser scans on Sep 3 and a 3D Map on Apr 15.
Opening a cell
Click a cell to open that capture's panel: its location, its Capture Intelligence summary (an AI description of what the capture shows, in Beta, with Show Details), its details, and Open to see it in SiteView.
- Capture Intelligence - an AI summary of what the capture shows; Show Details opens the rest. Beta.
- Open - opens this capture in SiteView.
New Capture
New Capture, top right in both views, is the administrative way to add a capture. Its menu has three entries:
| Entry | For |
|---|---|
| Empty Capture | A capture record to fill afterwards |
| Upload File | Uploading capture files from your computer |
| CupixCapture Upload | A capture recorded in the CupixCapture app |
The Capture category covers the same uploads from the app's side, and CupixConnect covers drone and laser-scan uploads.
New Capture - Empty Capture (a record to fill later), Upload File (capture files from your computer), CupixCapture Upload (a capture recorded in the app).
