Capacity is an area budget
A CupixWorks license is not a count of seats, projects or users. It is an amount of area, in square feet or square metres depending on the team's default units. Everything on the license page is a view of that number.
- A project consumes area.
- Archiving a project returns its area.
- Going over the quota means going over an area budget.
The page is Team Settings › License, and it needs Team Admin. A Workspace Admin or Project Admin who cannot find licensing is not missing a setting. Archive and Activate on this page belong to Team Admin too.
Two tabs, two different licenses
The tabs are not two views of one number. They license two different things.
| Tab | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Team License | One license for the whole team, and how its capacity is spread across workspaces and projects |
| Workspace License | One license per workspace, each with its own quota, usage and renewal date |
A workspace can be over its own quota while the team is under.
Team License
- Four figures: License Type, Space Quota, Space Usage and Renewal Date. Over quota or past renewal, they change colour so the page reads at a glance.
-
Space Usage meter, usage against the quota, coloured by band:
- Normal up to 80% of the quota
- Warning from 80% to 100%
- Error above 100%
- Workspace / Project Allocation lists each workspace and the projects inside it, with the area each one takes and its status. Expand a workspace row to see its projects. A workspace row's total counts only its active projects.
Archived projects are not counted towards the allocated size, and the page says so under the table. Archiving inactive projects is how you free capacity. See Archiving a project, and what it returns.
Workspace License
- The callout when a quota is exceeded or a license has expired, with Upgrade License.
- Expired Workspaces (n) lists the workspaces whose license has run out.
- Capacity, shown on a card when the workspace has a quota set.
Each card also shows Space quota, Space usage and Renewal.
When the license needs attention
When usage is over the quota, or a license has expired, the page shows a callout with Upgrade License. Some work may be blocked until it is resolved. On the Workspace License tab the callout names how many workspaces are over, for example: You have exceeded your space quota. 2 workspace(s) have exceeded their space quota. Review the allocation below, or upgrade for more.
- The callout clears itself once usage is back within the quota. You do not dismiss it; it reports a state.
- A workspace over its allocated area also carries an error badge beside its name in the Workspaces list, and its project list shows the same callout. A Team Admin sees this for every workspace, a Workspace Admin for their own only.
Upgrading is a request
Upgrade License opens a small dialog: Please contact Cupix Support to learn more about options to upgrade your license. It has two buttons, Close and Contact Cupix Support. Your team, plan and current usage are attached for you. The license does not change on this page: a request is sent, and the confirmation reads Email sent.
Expired and suspended workspaces
A workspace license that runs out moves through two states.
| What you can do | Expired (read-only) | Suspended |
|---|---|---|
| View existing SiteViews | Yes | No |
| Add or edit captures | No | No |
| Create or edit notes | No | No |
| Export data | No | No |
| Download SiteView content with CupixConnect | No | No |
Expired
An expired workspace becomes read-only if the team still holds another active license. You can open existing SiteViews; you cannot add, edit or export.
The 30-day grace period
If there is no other active license, an expired workspace stays readable for 30 days. After that it becomes Suspended.
Suspended
Nobody can open a suspended workspace's projects, and nothing in them can be viewed, edited, exported or downloaded. A license must be purchased to see the data again. Contact your CSM to reactivate the workspace.
Will an expired workspace be suspended if I have another active one? No. As long as the team holds one active workspace license, the expired workspace stays read-only.
Contact your CSM with any question about the status of a workspace license. On a Team License, see Archiving a project, and what it returns.
