Guest is one grade

There is a single Guest grade. What varies inside it is app access, set one app at a time: Read Only or Read & Write.

This is the part most worth getting right, because it is easy to assume there are two kinds of guest. There are not. There is one grade and a panel of per-app switches.

What Read & Write actually means

IA5-SET-AC-16 defines it: Read & Write on an app means the guest can create, edit, share and download in it. Read Only means they can look.

A read-and-write guest is a working grade, not a decorated observer. Any restriction that tests “is this person a guest” rather than “what access does this guest have on this app” takes create, edit, share and download away from people who are meant to have them.

The app list follows the project

Only the apps that project actually uses appear. A guest on a project running SiteView alone cannot be granted DeltaBIM, because the project does not have it to give.

The panel appears only for a guest, and only at project scope. It has no meaning at team or workspace level, where guest is not one of the grades.

If you are looking for SiteView Member or Observer

CWV5-AC-11 records both as mappings rather than grades: SiteView Member is Guest with Read & Write, and Observer is Guest with Read Only. Neither loses any permission in the mapping.

On that reading, creating what used to be a SiteView Member means adding the person as a Guest and setting SiteView to Read & Write.

ANSWERED 2026-09-08. The build's Members table still shows a SiteView Member column at project scope. That column is a legacy artefact and is being corrected — the specification is right and the table is out of date. There are eight grades, and this mapping is how to create what used to be a SiteView Member.
