Introduction
Capture Intelligence is an AI analysis that runs on your 360 captures. Gen6 SLAM works out where things are; Capture Intelligence works out what is there, and writes it down as a short summary of each capture date.
There is nothing to turn on or configure. It runs as part of processing, and you meet its results in SiteView and on the Captures page.
What It Produces
The analysis produces five outputs, and they are not all made at the same level. That matters when you go looking for a result.
| Output | Made for | What it gives you |
|---|---|---|
| Summary | Each capture | A written account of what the capture shows. |
| WIP | Each work area | Work in place: what has been built in that area. |
| Safety issues | Each image | Safety conditions found in an individual frame. |
| Notable items | Each image | Anything else worth a second look, per frame. |
| Custom object locator | Each capture | Finds and locates the objects your team cares about. |
Alongside the summary, the screens show Site Context (what the space is made of) and Overall Condition (the materials and equipment in view).
Custom object locator is the one output that needs setting up. It finds and locates custom 3D objects, such as scissor lifts and other equipment, in 360 video. You register each target object with ten to twenty bounding boxes on a first capture; on every capture after that, the objects it finds are created as Notes.
What it does not produce
Surface-quality findings such as corrosion, water damage, concrete defects, spills and surface cracks are not produced anywhere in CupixWorks 5.0. They are not a Capture Intelligence output, and SmartFilter does not carry them either: SmartFilter labels what a thing is (floor, wall, duct, column), not its condition.
Where You See It
In SiteView: the date strip
- Click See other dates next to the capture date to open the date strip for the level you are on.
- A card with a sparkle button has a summary. Hover the sparkle to read the summary on the card.
- Click Show more to open the full summary for that date.
- Click Open in that window to go to that capture.
- A card with its summary - hovering the sparkle shows the summary on the card. Show more opens the full summary.
- Sparkle button - this date has a Capture Intelligence summary.
- No capture on this level - the date exists in the project, but not on this level, so there is nothing to summarise.
- Title - the date the summary belongs to.
- Summary - a plain-language description of the scene: people, equipment and materials in view.
- Facility, Level, Site Context, Overall Condition - where the capture is, what the space is made of, and the materials and equipment in view.
- Open - takes you to this capture.
- The capture date - now shows the date you opened. The sparkle icon beside it marks a date with a summary.
On the Captures page
In the Project Admin Center, switch the Captures page to Matrix view and click a cell. The panel that opens carries the same summary for that level and date.
- Capture Intelligence - the summary for this level and date, marked Beta.
- Show Details / Hide Details - shows or hides Site Context and Overall Condition.
- Open - opens this capture in SiteView.
Through Compass
Compass can search Capture Intelligence results, so a question can return a summary or a safety issue without you opening anything. See Compass.
Which Captures Are Analysed
| Capture type | Capture Intelligence at 5.0 |
|---|---|
| 3D Map (360) | Yes |
| VideoDrive (360) | Yes |
| Drone | No |
| Laser scan | No |
When Results Appear
Not at once. Processing a capture takes roughly half a day, and the Capture Intelligence results arrive with the processed capture rather than at upload. Progress tracking adds a couple more days on top.
