Bookmarks
A bookmark is the quickest way back to something you have already found: a spot to check again next week, a view to open in every site meeting, or a link to send a colleague so they land exactly where you are looking.
To leave SiteView with a file instead (a pano, a screen capture, a Timeline Report or 3D data), see Download and export - leave with a file.
Saving and sharing views
A bookmark saves a view: the capture, the spot and the direction you are looking. You or your team can come straight back to it, or send it to someone as a link.
Personal and Team
Click Bookmark on the tool rail. The panel has two tabs:
| Tab | Who sees it |
|---|---|
| Personal | Only you |
| Team | Everyone who can see the project. The right place for the views a project reviews itself on week after week |
Each bookmark shows its name and when it was made. Click it to go straight to that view. Both tabs start empty, each with its own button to add the first one.
- Bookmark - opens the panel.
- Personal and Team - yours alone, or everyone on the project.
- Add Personal Bookmark - saves the current view.
- Saved bookmarks - with when each was made; click one to go there.
Creating a bookmark
- Get the view you want on screen.
- Open Bookmark on the tool rail and pick the tab: Personal or Team.
- Click Add Personal Bookmark or Add Team Bookmark.
- Give it a Name that says what it is for.
- Choose which capture opens with it, then click Create.
| Which capture should be opened | When someone follows the bookmark |
|---|---|
| Keep the capture in the main view | Whatever capture they have open stays |
| Latest capture | The newest capture of that spot, so the bookmark keeps up with the site |
| Specific capture | The date you pick from the list |
A bookmark saves more than the camera: the location, camera angle, level, BIM placement and file selection, what is shown in the viewer, and point cloud settings all come back with it.
- What a bookmark saves - location, camera angle, level, BIM placement, display and point cloud settings.
- Name - required.
- Which capture opens with it - the one in the main view, always the latest, or a date you pick.
- Create - saves the bookmark.
Managing bookmarks
Each bookmark has a menu:
| Item | What it does |
|---|---|
| Edit | Change the name or the capture it opens |
| Copy Bookmark URL | A link that opens the viewer at that exact view. Useful in a ticket, an email or a note |
| Move to team / Move to Personal | Share it, or take it back. Moving to Personal asks you to confirm, because the bookmark stops being shared |
| Delete | Remove it |
- The menu button - on each bookmark.
- Edit, Copy Bookmark URL, Move to team, Delete - rename or re-save it; copy a link to it; share it with the project; remove it.
