Finding notes is in SpatialNotes — find and read. This article is about making one, filling it in, and keeping it moving.
Adding a note
Open Notes in the tool rail and add one. Point at the place on the capture the note is about — the note is pinned there, and anyone who opens it later lands on that spot.
What every note has
- Title — required. It is what shows on the card and on the plan, so write it as the problem, not the location.
- Group — which form type the note belongs to, such as Inspection.
- Capture date — filled in from where you are standing.
- Tag — optional, and the thing that makes a note findable later. Issues is a common one.
The form
Below that sits the form for the group you chose. An Inspection note asks for Trade, Description, Severity, Assignee, Due Date and Cost Impact. Assignee picks from the people on the project; Due Date opens a calendar.
The fields are the group’s, not SiteView’s. A different form type asks for different things, so what you see depends on how your project is set up.
Attachments
A note can carry References, Photo & Voice Notes and files. Files are dragged onto the drop zone or chosen from your computer, up to 100 MB each.
Save, and the note appears in the list with a Note created confirmation.
Working a note
Open a note and its Status is a dropdown at the top — Open, In Progress and whatever else your project’s Status Set defines. Changing it is how a note moves; the status is what the filters in the panel search on.
Comments are at the foot of the panel and are the conversation on the note, separate from the form.
Notes while comparing
You can add and open notes with Compare or BIM on screen. Raising a note at the moment you spot a difference, from inside the comparison, is the workflow this is built for.
Photo and Voice Notes
Photo & Voice Notes are their own group in the panel. They come from the capture apps rather than from here, and they are read in SiteView alongside FormNotes.
