A SpatialNote is anything anyone has left on the site: a photo, a voice memo, or a filled-in form. They all live in one panel, and this article is about finding and reading them. Creating and managing them is in SpatialNotes — create and manage.
Opening the panel
Click SpatialNotes in the tool rail.
How the list is organised
Three levels, outermost first:
- FormNote group — the form type, such as Inspection. Photo & Voice Notes is a group of its own at this level.
- Date group — when the note was made, split into two kinds:
- Captured — the note is tied to a capture, so opening it takes you to the exact spot in that capture.
- Independent — the note was placed on the plan without a capture behind it.
- Note cards — the notes themselves, newest first.
Finding one
- Search matches the note text and highlights what matched on the card, so you can tell why a result came back.
- Status filters by where the note is in its workflow — the statuses available come from the Status Set your project uses.
- Tag filters by tag.
Reading one
Click a card. The note opens with three tabs — Overview, Properties and Attachments — and a comment count at the foot of the panel.
- Overview — the status, the tag, and who created and last updated it, with dates.
- Properties — the form behind the note. On an Inspection note that is Trade, Description, Severity, Assignee, Due Date and Cost Impact.
- Attachments — References, Photo & Voice Notes, and any files on the note.
Status is a dropdown at the top of Overview. The values come from your project's Status Set — Open and In Progress both appear in observed projects.
Opening a Captured note moves the viewer to where it was made. Opening an Independent note moves the plan to its pin.
Pins on the plan
Notes appear on the plan inset as typed pins, so you can see what kind of note it is before opening it: a camera for a PhotoNote, a microphone for a VoiceNote, a form for a FormNote.
