Seven cards, three kinds
Team Settings › General is a single column of cards. They are not all the same kind of thing:
| Card | Kind | What it holds |
|---|---|---|
| Team Profile | Identity | Logo, Team Name, Team URL |
| Two-Step Verification | Switch with reach | The team-wide policy |
| Little Planet Nadir Patching | Default | How the bottom of a 360° photo is filled |
| Self-Service Sign-up | Switch with reach | Whether people at your email domain can join on their own |
| Default Units | Default | Length, Area and Volume |
| Default Language | Default | The starting language for new members |
| Allowed Capture Methods | Default | Which capture methods the CupixCapture app may use |
Change, edit in place, Save
Every card edits the same way. Change turns the card itself editable (there is no dialog) and is replaced by Cancel and Save. Save stays unavailable until something differs. Only one card is in edit mode at a time.
| Card | In edit mode |
|---|---|
| Team Profile | A logo drop zone (profile image 1 MB at most), the Team Name field, and the Team URL shown read-only with Copy |
| Two-Step Verification | One toggle |
| Little Planet Nadir Patching | The angle as a number with a stepper, 1 to 30° |
| Self-Service Sign-up | The toggle and the Team Email Domain field |
| Default Units | Three dropdowns, Length, Area, Volume, each with its own unit list (Area offers ft², m², cm²) |
| Default Language | One dropdown |
| Allowed Capture Methods | A toggle per method: 3D Map, 360° Virtual Tour, 360° Photo |
Team Profile
Logo, Team Name, and Team URL, shown as a subdomain (yourteam.cupix.works) with a Copy control.
- The logo reaches further than this page: it is the image in the top bar. Removing it is a normal state, not an error; the top bar then shows the team name as text.
- The Team URL cannot be changed here. It is read-only in edit mode as in view mode. Changing a team's subdomain is not something this page offers.
Two-Step Verification, the team-wide policy
One toggle, and it decides for everybody. The card says what it means: each time a team member signs in, they need their password and a verification code.
- Policy on: every member must use two-step verification. On each person's own Security page the toggle shows as on and locked, marked as required by the team.
- Policy off: the choice goes back to each member. Anyone who had it on keeps it on until they change it.
So the policy raises the floor; it never switches anybody's protection off. The second factor is a code emailed to the member (see Personal settings), so enabling the policy commits the whole team to that method.
Self-Service Sign-up
Two parts: whether it is Enabled, and a Team Email Domain. With it on, anyone with an email at that domain can create a Cupix account and join your team on their own, on the free tier.
This is the one card on the page that lets someone into the team without an administrator acting. Check that the domain is one your company controls. A group's auto-join domains then decide which group such a person lands in; see Groups - system, custom and vendor.
Little Planet Nadir Patching
A 360° photo has a hole at the bottom where the tripod stood. This setting is the angle of that patch, and the area is filled with the little planet image.
The range is 1 to 30°: a small angle patches little, a large one patches more.
The defaults, and what a default does not do
- Default Units sets Length, Area and Volume independently. An unset one reads (Not set) rather than quietly taking a value.
- Default Language states its own scope: it is applied to all new team members, and each member can change their language in their personal settings.
Defaults seed; they do not rewrite. Changing one gives new projects and new members a new starting point and leaves everything that already exists alone. To change existing projects, change them one by one.
Allowed Capture Methods
Three methods, 3D Map, 360° Virtual Tour and 360° Photo, each Allowed or not. The card: Choose one or more allowed capture methods that the CupixCapture app will support.
This card is the team default, and each project keeps its own copy:
- When a project is created, the wizard's Capture Types step starts from the team's setting.
- Afterwards a Project Admin can narrow it on the project's Configuration › Properties, for that project only. Other projects and the team default are untouched.
A project can only narrow what the team allows; it cannot allow a method the team has turned off. So a capture the app refuses for a method reason is explained by one of two cards, and the project's is the nearer one. See Configuration - the project's own settings.
The project's card says team defaults are in Team > Settings > Standards. They are here, on General.
What you will not find here
- No version card. A team already on CupixWorks 5.0 does not see a CupixWorks Version card. The move from 4.0 is permanent by policy and cannot be reversed by anyone, support and Cupix included, so it is never offered as a setting on this page.
- No integrations. Integrations (ACC/BIM 360, Procore, Revizto, PlanGrid, Oracle Primavera Cloud) are set up per project, on Configuration › Integrations (Configuration - the project's own settings). There is no team-level Integrations section, and none is planned: if you are looking for them at team level, that is why the sidebar has no entry.
- No Compass settings. Compass ships in 5.0 and has its own article; a team-level place to configure it is not a Team Settings section in this release.
