Written 2026-09-14 for people who know CupixWorks 4.0. It lists what has a new name, what moved, and where the article about each thing now is. It does not explain the screens — the linked articles do.
First, the word “Parallax”
Parallax is the name of this version of CupixWorks — CupixWorks 5.0 — not a product. You will see it in release notes and in the name of this help center. The products keep their own names, and several of those names changed.
1. New names
These come from the 2026-08-24 naming update and are used consistently across the 5.0 help center. If you search for the old name you will not find it in a title.

Unchanged: CupixConnect, SiteInsights. New in 5.0 with no 4.0 predecessor: AssetAtlas, BIM AI. The compound names are written closed — CupixCapture, CupixField, SpatialNote, FormNote, PhotoNote, VoiceNote — and “Photo & Voice Notes” is the one that is not.
2. The help center is arranged differently
Ten categories, two levels deep (category › section), and every article is a new article on this brand — old 4.0 links do not carry over. The categories:
- Getting Started — everything you need to know to get started, plus Cupix Campus and the troubleshooting and error-code articles
- Project Setup — the built world before anything is captured — sites, buildings, levels and work areas
- Capture — how to capture a site, with every app and camera
- SiteView — the 3D digital-twin viewer — navigation, progress, measurement, notes
- Cupix Intelligence — AI and analytics on captured data — Compass, Capture Intelligence, Analytics
- Project Apps — the add-on apps: SiteInsights, DeltaBIM and AssetAtlas
- Desktop & Mobile — CupixConnect, SiteView Desktop and CupixField
- Administration & Settings — team, workspace and project administration — permissions, licenses, members, settings
- Integrations — the vendors CupixWorks connects to
- What's New — release notes and announcements

3. Where you land, and where things are
4.0's Map View and List View are gone. Signing in puts you on the team home, whose sidebar has four entries: Active Projects, Workspaces, Desktop & Mobile, Analytics. Projects live inside workspaces: open a workspace and you get its Projects page — the card grid, an Active / Archived toggle, and New Project. The five-step New Project wizard replaces 4.0's project creation form. See Workspace configuration and Project configuration.
What 4.0 called the Project Admin Center is still there, reached from a project card's Open Project Admin Center. Its sidebar: Apps, Analytics, Activity, Captures, Skeleton, Library, Work Areas, Configuration. Skeleton, Library and Work Areas are what 4.0 called BluePrint, now Project Setup (see Built-world structure setup); Configuration holds the project's properties, integrations, external viewers, note groups and members.
Team Settings is behind the gear at the top right and has these pages: General, Standards, Templates, Asset Categories, Members, Groups, License, Trash. The articles: Team Settings: General, Team standards, Team Settings: Templates, Team Settings: Asset Categories, Members and invitations, Manage groups, Licenses and capacity and Trash. 4.0's Team Profile Settings is the General page; Project Types is inside Standards.
4. Access is membership
4.0 had a Manage Access panel for sharing a workspace, a project or a SiteView with people. In 5.0 giving someone access to something is adding them as a member of it, at the scope you want them to reach — the team, a workspace or a project. The same Add Members dialog does it at every scope; only the grade choices change.
There are 8 permission grades: Super Admin, Admin (Team Admin), Member (Team Member), Workspace Admin, Workspace Member, Project Admin, Project Member, Guest. 4.0's SiteView Member and SiteView Observer are not grades any more — they map onto Guest, whose Read Only or Read & Write access is set per app. What each grade can and cannot do is one table: the permission matrix, with a short article per level (team, workspace, project, guests).
5. The built world has one more tier
4.0 organised a project as Project → Level → Work Area. 5.0 adds Site and Building: Site → Building → Level → Work Area, so one project can hold several buildings and their levels do not collide. This is set up before capturing, in Project Setup, and it is what the Site / Building / Level selector at the top of SiteView walks. See Built-world structure setup.
6. SiteView is one viewer
Indoor walkthroughs, aerial reconstructions and drone captures open in the same window, every panel slides out of one tool rail, and the Capture Grid shows which captures exist for which level on which date. What 4.0 called SkyMap is the Drone Capture part of this — the surface is the same, the way you reach it is not. Start with SiteView overview and layout and Drone Capture Overview; comparing against a model is Compare against BIM, and segment filtering is SmartFilter.
7. Analytics and the apps
InfoSphere is Analytics and sits under Cupix Intelligence (Analytics Dashboard Overview), alongside Compass. The add-ons are Project Apps: SiteInsights, DeltaBIM (was Deviation Analysis) and AssetAtlas. The desktop and mobile apps are in Desktop & Mobile, starting with CupixConnect overview; CupixCapture stays under Capture (CupixCapture).
8. Upgrading a team is permanent
A team moves from 4.0 to 5.0 from Team Settings › General, on the CupixWorks Version card. The card says it and this guide repeats it: upgrading is permanent — your team can't return to v4, and there is no route back through support either. Treat it as a decision the team makes together. Still there, still the same
- Your captures, projects, notes and BIM files — 5.0 reads what 4.0 wrote.
- Project origin coordinates — same values, same meaning, controls moved into the New Project wizard and Configuration › Properties (Use Project Origin Coordinates).
- The 4.0 help center, at its current address, for a grace period after launch. This one replaces it; the old one is not updated any more.
