The tree is not only a description of the building; it is the set of places content attaches to. Mounting attaches a reference to a node. Activating and publishing decide whether the apps show it there.
Mount
A mount is a link, not a copy: one drawing mounted to ten identical floors is one drawing, shared.
- Choose Mount DRs in the Skeleton header, or Mount on the waiting banner. Mount Design References opens.
- On the left, pick the reference. Every reference in the project is listed, those awaiting mount first, each with its kind and how many targets it has.
- On the right, tick the targets, grouped by building, with Select all for each group.
- Save. The footer says No changes until something is ticked.
- Design references - every reference in the project, those awaiting mount first, each with its kind and how many targets it has.
- Mount target - where the selected reference can go, grouped by building, with Select all per building.
- Save, or Cancel - No changes until you tick something; Save attaches the reference to every node ticked.
What can go where
Only an Aligned reference can be mounted, and what it can go to depends on its kind:
| Reference | Can be mounted to |
|---|---|
| 3D BIM | Exactly one building; never the Site, never two buildings |
| Drawing (plan) | The Site (a site plan), any number of levels, or a building (a roof) |
| Work Area Set | The Site, or any number of levels |
Mounting from where you are working
You do not have to go back to the Skeleton header. A reference can be mounted from:
| Where | How |
|---|---|
| The Library | Select the file, open its Design Ref tab, and use the mount icon on the reference. The dialog only offers Compatible Nodes, on a Site tab and a Levels tab. |
| A level in the Skeleton | The level's Design Ref tab: + Mount Drawing and + Mount Work Area Set. |
| A mounted reference in the Skeleton | + Mount to another Node under Mounted to. |
| The drawing editor | Mounts > Edit on the Properties tab. |
| The BIM editor | The Mounted selector in its top bar. |
New buildings are only ever created in the Skeleton.
- Compatible Nodes only - the dialog only offers places this kind of reference can go. Site and Levels are two tabs.
- Already mounted - a ticked level is where the drawing is mounted now; untick to take it off that level.
- Apply - greyed out until something changes.
Activate and publish
Mounting puts a reference in the Skeleton. It does not put it in front of anyone. Two more switches do that:
| Activate | Publish | |
|---|---|---|
| What it means | This reference is approved for use in the project | Show it in the apps: SiteView and the add-ons such as SiteInsights, DeltaBIM and AssetAtlas |
| Set on | The reference: its editor, or its Library row | Each node it is mounted to |
| Needs | Nothing mounted; it can be Activated on its own | The reference to be Activated first |
Select a mounted reference in the tree to see its publishing controls.
- The drawing in the tree - under its level's Drawings group, with a Mounted chip.
- Publish, Display in Capture App, Coord Reference - show it in the apps; show it in the CupixCapture app too; the frame it was aligned in (BCS).
- Mounted to - every node it is attached to, each with its own publish switch, and + Mount to another Node.
- Open in Editor - opens the drawing's editor to change its alignment.
Publish is set per node
Mounted to lists every node the reference is attached to, each with its own switch. Mount one drawing to eight levels and you get eight switches, so one floor can be taken out of the apps without touching the other seven.
Display in Capture App also shows the drawing in the CupixCapture app, as the plan people capture over. Coord Reference is the frame it was aligned in (BCS, PCS or CRS). Open in Editor takes you to its alignment.
Going back, and deleting
| When... | What happens |
|---|---|
| You move a reference back a status | From Activated to Aligned, or back to Draft, it leaves the apps, but its mounts and Publish switches are kept, and take effect again as soon as it moves forward. |
| You unmount it from a node | Only that node loses it; every other mount stays. |
| You delete one reference | Only that reference and its mounts go. |
| You delete a source file | Every reference extracted from it goes, with their mounts. Anchors survive, and work areas are never affected. |
