SiteView overview
SiteView is where you walk a captured site. It opens on a capture - a 360 photo, an aerial model or a drone map - and everything else in the viewer is a way of moving through that capture, measuring it, comparing it with another date, or leaving a note on it.
This article names the four areas of the screen and what each one is for, and points to the article for each tool.
The four areas
Everything in SiteView sits in one of four places. Knowing which one a control lives in is the fastest way to find it.
Topbar - what you are looking at
The topbar decides what you are looking at. Nothing else on the screen changes the subject.
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Project name | Opens the project in the hub |
| Building / Level / Work area | Cascading selectors: pick a building, then one of its levels, then a work area. The building list also holds the Site |
| Avatars | Who else is in the project right now |
| Capture Grid | Every capture by level and date, in one table |
| Brighten Up | Brightens the 360 photo (first-person mode only) |
| Download | Download Pano, Download Screen Capture, Create Timeline Report |
| Info | Where you are standing: geolocation, building, level, work area, closest room, and the capture's data (first-person mode only) |
| Compass | Ask questions about the project in plain language |
The capture date is not in the topbar. It sits at the top left of the viewport, with See other dates beside it.
- Building and level - pick the building, then one of its levels; the date and plan follow what you pick.
- Who else is here, Capture Grid, Brighten Up, Download, Info - people viewing the project now; every capture by level and date; brighten a dark photo; save the pano, a screen capture or a Timeline Report; details of where you stand. Brighten Up and Info appear in first-person mode only.
- The tool rail - Compare, BIM, Notes, Measure, Bookmark and Settings. Each opens a panel; up to two panels can be open at once.
- The capture date - the date of the capture on screen. See other dates opens the timeline for this level.
- The floor plan inset - where you stand and which way you face. The corner button expands it.
- The gizmo - camera controls. Its buttons change with the mode, see below.
Tool rail - work on what you see
The strip down the left edge does something to what you are looking at. Each button opens a panel beside the viewport.
| Button | Opens |
|---|---|
| Compare | A second capture beside this one - another date |
| BIM | The BIM model beside the capture |
| Notes | The SpatialNotes panel - every note on this level, grouped |
| Measure | Distance, Radius, Angle, Path, Area, Volume and RulerBoard |
| Bookmark | Saved views, Personal and Team |
| Settings | What shows in the viewport, by category |
A Revizto button joins the rail when an administrator has turned the Revizto integration on for the project (Project Configuration > Integrations). The button is where you sign in to your own Revizto account; it is not shown on projects without the integration.
- Two rail buttons on - a second button opens its panel beside the first; opening a third closes the oldest.
- Bookmarks - saved views, personal and team.
- Measure - the measure tools and everything measured on this capture.
Viewport - the capture
The viewport is the capture itself. Two things sit on it all the time:
The capture date, top left. It says which day you are looking at; See other dates opens the capture timeline for this spot.
The floor plan inset, bottom left. It shows where you are standing, which way you face, and every waypoint on the level - click a waypoint to move to it, or expand the inset to see the plan larger.
In the capture, the round pano bubbles are the other waypoints you can step to, and the tagged pins are SpatialNotes.
Right-click in the viewport for the rest:
| Group | What is in it |
|---|---|
| Navigate | Back and Forward, between the places you have stood |
| View Mode | 360 Tour (stand inside the 360 photo), 3D Map (the reconstructed model of the space) or Combined (both at once) |
| Layers | Pano Bubble, SpatialNotes, Work Areas, Measurements and Reference Plans, each with a keyboard shortcut (Shift + P, N, A, M) |
Drone captures are their own context, reached from the level list.
- Navigate Back / Forward - step back to the photo you came from, or forward again; greyed out when there is nowhere to go.
- View Mode - 360° Tour draws the photo only, 3D Map the point cloud only, Combined the photo over the point cloud.
- Layers - turn Pano Bubble, SpatialNotes, Work Areas, Measurements and Reference Plans on or off; the shortcut is on the right.
Gizmo - how it is drawn
The cluster at the top right changes how the same capture is drawn. It sits around a compass ring that shows which way you face, and its buttons change with the mode:
| Button | First-person mode | Aerial mode |
|---|---|---|
| Zoom Fit | Yes | Yes |
| Aerial mode / First-person mode | Aerial mode - lift out to the whole level | First-person mode - drop back into the photo |
| Orthographic View / Perspective View | - | Yes |
| SmartFilter | - | Yes: Segments, Multi-Level and Clipping |
- Zoom Fit - brings the whole capture back into view after you have zoomed or panned away.
- Orthographic View / Perspective View - toggles between a flat view with no perspective and the normal 3D view; the icon shows the view you will switch to.
- First-person mode / Aerial mode - toggles between standing inside a 360 photo and looking down on the level as a 3D dollhouse. In first-person mode this button reads Aerial mode.
- SmartFilter - opens and closes the SmartFilter panel; aerial mode only.
- The SmartFilter panel - Segments, Multi-Level and Clipping. See Settings and SmartFilter - what is drawn.
Changes from 4.0
| In 4.0 | In 5.0 |

| Viewer controls scattered across the screen | Settings - one panel, by category. Reference plans and work areas are categories there |
| Semantic Segmentation | SmartFilter, on the gizmo, with Multi-Level and Clipping alongside Segments |
| Capture Intelligence and Compass elsewhere | Compass opens from the topbar; Capture Intelligence from the capture timeline |
| Plan Viewer as its own mode | The floor plan inset, and reference plans as a Settings category |
| Point Cloud as its own viewer | A way of drawing the 3D map, under Settings |
