Every upload answers the same five questions
Whatever you are uploading, CupixConnect asks where it belongs before it sends anything. The step is called Area Info and it is the same shape for every upload type.

| Choose a Site/Building | The one that decides the shape of everything below it. See the next section. |
| Add to an existing capture | An existing capture date, or Or Create New Capture to start a new one. |
| Add to an existing level | An existing level such as 1F, or Or Create New Level. Buildings only. |
Site or Building, and why it is not a cosmetic choice
A project holds either Sites or Buildings, and the difference is whether the space has levels.

| Site | Outdoor or single-surface ground. The upload attaches to a capture date and stops there — there is no level to pick. |
| Building | A structure with floors. After the capture date you also choose a level, and the upload attaches to that floor. |
So a drone flight over the whole plot goes to a Site; a scan of the second floor goes to a Building and then to 2F. Getting this wrong does not fail the upload — it files the data somewhere a colleague will not look for it.

Adding to an existing capture rather than making a new one
The capture dropdown lists the dates the project already has — Feb 25, 2025, Jan 28, 2025. Choosing one adds this upload to that capture. Or Create New Capture makes a new date instead.
Add to an existing capture when this data is more of the same visit: a second scan of the same floor on the same day. Create a new capture when it is a new visit, because capture dates are what Compare over time works from.
