About the screenshots in this article. Some were captured through a development harness that can put the app into a given state directly. A screenshot proves the screen exists and what it contains; it does not prove that state is what you will meet by default.

What a custom capture is

A custom capture is a set of 360° photos whose positions are already known and written into a JSON file in the Cupix format. Connect does not work out where the photos were taken — the manifest tells it.

Use it when the positions come from somewhere else: a total station, a robot, another platform's export.

Uploading

1. Select the JSON file. The step accepts one file and states the format: Support format: json. Drag it in or browse.

2. Give it an Area ID. This step is shorter than every other upload's Area Info, and the panel says why: “Enter the area ID this capture belongs to. Each photo's position already lives in the manifest.” So there is no workspace, project or level to choose here — only which area it attaches to.

3. Upload. It finishes with Upload Complete! and The custom capture has been uploaded.
